According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, “The Viper” himself pushed to turn heel in WWE, and was reportedly requesting officials to grant him the turn for several months.

Orton has always made it publicly known that he would rather be a heel and sources are stating that he is expected to be the top heel on Smackdown Live alongside Samoa Joe:
