The Undertaker hasn't wrestled since last year's
Extreme Rules PPV when he teamed with Roman Reigns to take on Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon. Now, though, it looks like he's set to make his in-ring return at
WrestleMania in a match with former United States Champion AJ Styles.
It's definitely a dream match, but one many fans are confused about. Aside from one brief interaction on
SmackDown a few years ago to hype
Survivor Series, the two men have never crossed paths!
Well, Dave Meltzer has now weighed in on why it's taking place.
"1) AJ Styles is a heel, and 2) AJ Styles can lose to Undertaker and it ain’t gonna hurt him at all. 3) If you’re gonna have Undertaker in match you might as well have it against one of your best guys so it doesn’t suck, you know what I mean?"
"You know and one things is most guys really that wrestle Undertaker and lose doesn’t really get hurt by it," Meltzer continued. "The way AJ’s been positioned it’s not gonna hurt. So, it’s just a way to get Undertaker on the card."
That makes sense, and it certainly has the potential to be one of the most exciting matches on the
WrestleMania card. It definitely wouldn't hurt Styles to lose, but giving the popular heel a win over The Undertaker would go a long way in cementing his legacy in WWE.
What do you guys think?
