Backstage News Revealed About Edge's WWE Return Including How Close He Came To Debuting In AEW

While it's been rumoured for months now, Edge shocked the world last night when he entered at #21 in the Royal Rumble match. He made it into the final three before being eliminated and it's said that the plan now is for him to work a limited schedule not all that different to Brock Lesnar.

However, what led to him making his WWE return? Well, it's said that the multi-year deal he signed with the company last August came shortly after they learned that he had been meeting with All Elite Wrestling. AEW reportedly wanted him to make a surprise appearance at All Out in Chicago but it was Vince McMahon who won the day by offering more money.

Edge was cleared by WWE doctors in Pittsburgh several months ago and it now remains to be seen who he'll feud with heading into WrestleMania. He clashed with a number of Superstars with perhaps the most notable being Randy Orton and Seth Rollins.

Are you guys glad to see Edge back in a WWE ring?
