Bayley & Sasha Banks Retain The Women's Tag-Team Championships At BACKLASH

There was a lot of speculation that The IIconics would win the titles here, but Bayley and Sasha Banks were able to successfully defend their Women's Tag-Team Championships at Backlash after a decent bout.

Bayley and Sasha Banks are still the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions after retaining the titles at Backlash.

The titles were defended in a triple-threat match to open the show, with former champs Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and The IIconics attempting to regain the gold. Before the match, a split between The Boss and the SmackDown Women's Champion was teased in a backstage interview, seemingly setting up a betrayal should they lose the titles.

This added an extra dynamic to the match, but it came to nothing when Banks scored the victory for her team with a rollup on Bliss. Will we eventually see a feud between Banks and Bayley for the blue brand women's title? It seems inevitable at this point.

A decent match all things considered, but it would have been nice to see Peyton Royce and Billie Kaye win here. Bayley and Banks will now defend the titles against Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart this Wednesday on NXT.
