Last night's RAW ended with a Battle Royal to determine the new Women's World Champion after Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate the title a week ago due to injury.
The final four came down to Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, and Shayna Baszler, with the latter taken out by Jax. Lynch and Morgan worked in tandem to dispatch her, only for "The Man" to quickly pick up the win with a Manhandle Slam on Morgan from the apron.
With that, Lynch won the title for a seventh time.
The show was also full of other big developments ahead of this Friday's WWE Draft. For starters, a Tommaso Ciampa heel turn was teased when he refused to shake the hands of The Miz and R-Truth after they retained the World Tag Team Championship.
Gunther returned to RAW to announce his intention to become King of the Ring, only for us to later learn that he'd given Ludwig Kaiser the go-ahead to take out Giovanni Vinci (what the future holds in store for him and Imperium now remains to be seen).
A feud between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus was also set up before Backlash, while Chad Gable embraced his newfound heel status by tearing into his fellow members of Alpha Academy. He then demanded they help him win the Intercontinental Championship "no matter what."
After a failed attempt by JD McDonagh to attack World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest's Backlash opponent, Jey Uso, when RAW opened, El Campeón later took out Andrade & Ricochet, making it clear to JD and DoDominik Mysterio that he doesn't need anyone; they need him.
Something tells us The Judgement Day's time as a faction is nearing its end, though there was no sign of Finn Balor during the show.
