Were there some truth to the reports that Vince McMahon lost faith in Shayna Baszler after her disappointing RAW match against Kairi Sane? Well, it's hard to believe that wasn't the case after she failed to capture the RAW Women's Championship from Becky Lynch at WrestleMania!
In what could arguably be called Baszler's best match on the main roster, she managed to lock in the Kirifuda Clutch on The Man, only to find herself reversed into a pinning predicament which helped Lynch score an upset pinfall victory over the former NXT Women's Champion. It felt a lot like what happened last year when Lynch picked up the 1-2-3 over Ronda Rousey to win the title.
Whether that was supposed to be deliberate is hard to say, but it was certainly an interesting decision on WWE's part, and one which means that Lynch's lengthy reign will continue. Is the stage being set for her to defend against The Baddest Woman on the Planet next year?
Time will tell on that front!
