Becky Lynch recently made an appearance on The Bella Twins' podcast and discussed having to relinquish the RAW Women's Championship to Money in the Bank winner Asuka after announcing her pregnancy. Her baby is due in December, and The Man's future in the squared circle is in doubt as a result.
Talking to Nikki and Brie, Lynch admitted that she and Seth Rollins were trying to get pregnant around the time of this year's WrestleMania, and so pitched the idea to WWE that she should lose the title at the Show of Shows.
"I don’t know about you guys, but you have your goals and your working towards everything, but in the back of my mind, I always wanted to be a mother and have a family," she explained. "I knew I wanted to try and have a baby before 35. Then I met Colby [Seth Rollins] and was like, ‘Perfect, this is my person.’ This was always the plan."
"We started trying and I thought it would take a long time, and it didn’t, we were super lucky," Lynch continued. "It happened before I would have expected. I was still the champ at the time. I actually thought I was going to lose the title at WrestleMania, which I also pitched, that was the end of it. Plans change."
The former RAW Women's Champion went on to say that she started feeling sick shortly after WrestleMania, and it was then she took a pregnancy test. She suggested being beaten for the title really quickly, but the idea was nixed, as was a tournament for a new number #1 contender (who wouldn't realise they were competing for the title itself). Ultimately, WWE decided to use Money in the Bank.
