During Monday night's episode of RAW, we learned that the highly anticipated match between Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus will take place on an upcoming edition of the Monday night show.
That came as a huge surprise to fans, particularly as the feud has been building to a bout at SummerSlam for months now. To instead relegate this clash to a random episode of RAW in Canada has left people both angry and scratching their heads in confusion.
Both Becky and Trish have strongly hinted they might be unhappy on social media, and Fightful Select now confirms the delay has nothing to do with the latter not being able to wrestle due to her broken nose.
Trish is, in fact, cleared to wrestle and ready to go on Saturday if needed. However, WWE has become adamant about sticking to shorter runtimes for its PLEs (they had started becoming increasingly bloated) so there simply wasn't time for this match to be added to the card.
Due to the fact timings for Becky and Trish's match would have been "severely limited," the decision was made to postpone it (there had been talks of it happening at Payback in September, but the idea was dropped for some reason).
This lines up with what Dave Meltzer recently said about time constraints being the main reason Undisputed Women's Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez not being part of SummerSlam.
Here's the current, and likely final, card for the PLE:
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor
WWE Women's Championship Match
Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre
SummerSlam Battle Royal
Sheamus vs. LA Knight vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Otis vs. Chad Gable vs. TBA
MMA Rules Match
Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler
Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
Logan Paul vs. Ricochet
