SmackDown Superstar Big E appeared as a guest on this week's "Table Talk" podcast with D-Von Dudley, and was asked whether he would like a singles run. Despite being part of The New Day, Kofi Kingston obviously got that chance last year when he became WWE Champion, though he's back to being a tag team wrestler these days.
Big E is obviously quite a bit younger than Kingston, and someone many fans believe could and should be a top star in WWE. The question is, would he be open to leaving his faction for a singles run?
"Our thing was we always wanted to be a faction," he started. "Kofi would have his singles stuff, Woods would have his singles stuff. We could also go into tags. I still think we can do everything we want to as a faction. I could still do singles stuff and the New Day is still in tags. I’m prepared to do singles."
"I came in doing singles and I never saw myself as a tag team wrestler," Big E continued, "but I love tag team wrestling and I grew to love it. But, I still think we don’t need to break up. We can do stuff like Kofi did where we still stayed a faction. We were still together and he pursued his singles stuff."
Big E certainly makes a good point here, and it will be interesting seeing whether he is ever given the opportunity to be a singles star in WWE after being pigeonholed as a tag team wrestler for so long.
