During the latest edition of
The New Day: Feel The Power podcast, WWE Superstars Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods reflected on the #KofiMania phenomenon heading into last year's
WrestleMania. That culminated with Kingston beating Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship, but Big E has now revealed a scrapped angle from that build.
According to the
SmackDown Tag Team Champion, Big E and Woods were supposed to destroy Vince McMahon's actual office to get even for the way he was treating Kingston during that time.
"The plan was originally, and I was so excited for this, we legit kick in the door and tear [McMahon's] office up, legit throw things over!" he reveals. "I think he's in the office, in the corner, we're throwing tables over, and making quite a mess of his office, and just going on a rampage. And had this visceral anger about what's happening to Kofi."
That would have been fun to see, and an effective way to include Big E and Woods in this storyline (they often felt like background players on the Road to WrestleMania last year). We've caught glimpses of Vince's office in the past, though, and it's not hard to figure out why he would rather it not be destroyed!
Do you wish we'd seen this angle last year?
