Bobby Lashley Will Challenge Apollo Crews For The United States Championship At WWE PAYBACK

Apollo Crews successfully defended the United States Championship against MVP last night at SummerSlam, but this coming Sunday at Payback, he'll be putting his title on the line against a far more dangerous opponent.

WWE has announced that Bobby Lashley will challenge Crews for the US Championship at the PPV.

Crews has been clashing with The Hurt Business on a regular basis over the past few weeks, and to be honest, it's grown a little tiresome. Will he keep going round and round defending his title against Porter, Benjamin and Lashley until one of them wins? It's certainly starting to look that way.

Apollo was highly underutilized for a long time so it is nice to see him competing on a regular basis, but he really needs a proper feud to sink his teeth into. "You didn't join our group so now we want your title" is not exactly the most compelling storyline - especially when it's been dragged out for so long.

Payback will also see Sasha Banks and Bayley defend the Women's Tag Team Championships against an undisclosed team, and we'll more than likely see a few more matches added to the lineup tonight on Raw.
