It's looking like WWE Backstage is done for good, news which isn't overly surprising considering how poor ratings for the show have been. We've heard that those working on the series have been told they won't be returning, and FOX looking to cut costs during COVID-19 is seemingly what brought its end.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T shared his thoughts on WWE Backstage coming to an end during a recent edition of his podcast, and he clearly enjoyed his time getting to work on the series he proved to be a regular part of.
"WWE Backstage, today, we got the news that we’re not going to be shooting a weekly series, not right now anyway," he started. "I want to thank everybody on the FOX family crew and making it work for eight months, it was an awesome eight months. Hopefully, the project will be a little different and going to do something digital. We don’t know just yet, we’re just waiting right now."
After thanking those who worked on the show, Booker added: "A show like that is something needed to be able to deliver that side of insight."
His reasoning behind that is that the guests on WWE Backstage were able to share insight into their careers fans otherwise might not hear, and Booker concluded by saying he believes the show could return in some way, shape, or form down the line.
