Goldberg defeated The Fiend for the Universal Championship at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia much to the disgust of many wrestling fans, but when his WrestleMania opponent was named as Roman Reigns, it started to become clear why WWE had decided to take things in that direction.
However, The Big Dog decided to walk out of WrestleMania tapings a couple of weeks ago due to concerns over The Miz reportedly showing up with COVID-19 symptoms, and that means Braun Strowman took his place in the Universal Championship match against Goldberg at the Show of Shows (without any sort of explanation from WWE, of course).
Well, despite hitting the Monster Among Men with three spears, things backfired on Goldberg when he attempted to use his trademark Jackhammer. Strowman countered and hit the WWE Hall of Famer with four mighty powerslams and, with that, became Universal Champion!
This has been a long time coming, and it will be interesting seeing how WWE handles Strowman's reign from here.
