Last night on SmackDown, WWE finally confirmed that Braun Strowman will replace Roman Reigns and challenge Goldberg for the Universal Championship... in the most underwhelming way imaginable.
Up until Friday, WWE was still promoting Reigns vs. Goldberg at WrestleMania, and we assumed that was because some kind of storyline reason for The Big Dog dropping out and The Monster Among Men taking his spot would be given. Nope - Michael Cole just casually announced that the match would now be Strowman vs. Goldberg, and the screen displayed a graphic.
Is this really the best they could do even under admittedly difficult circumstances? Apparently so.
Reigns was a massive favorite to defeat Goldberg for the title, but we don't see Braun winning this. There's always a chance they'll put the strap on him for a while and set up another feud with Roman, of course, but that's a long-shot.
How do you guys think this match will play out? Let us know in the comments down below.
