Two more matches have been made official for WWE WrestleMania 42—or, at least, one is official, while the other one is halfway there.
By winning the 2026 Women's Royal Rumble match, Liv Morgan earned the right to pick which women's world champion she wants to face on The Grandest Stage of Them All. For the past month, she has been predominantly interacting with Stephanie Vaquer on Monday Night Raw, but has had some minor confrontations with SmackDown's Jade Cargill, refusing to make a decision, even while WWE Creative made is abundantly clear there was only one route they were exploring.
After all these weeks, Morgan finall made her choice, and lo and behold, it is Stephanie Vaquer, who she will face for the Women's World Championship.
She revealed this during a promo segment where both Vaquer and Cargill were out. Morgan essentially only addressed Vaquer, putting her over by talking about all the struggles La Primera has gone through to get to the top, only to then hit her in the head with her microphone and beat her down afterward, finally taking her out with her finisher, Oblivion, and posing with the Women's World Championship title to make a statement about how she's going to beat her at WrestleMania.
The other match set up for WrestleMania is Brock Lesnar against someone, but we don't know who yet.
In another in-ring promo segment, Lesnar was accompanied by his advocate, Paul Heyman, who did all the talking for him (as per usual). Heyman announced that there are several dates Lesnar will be making appearances on the Road to WrestleMania 42, and that during that time frame, he's looking for an opponent.
This is effectively an open challenge, with Heyman saying that nobody has the balls to answer it, but if someone decides to do it (and they naturally will), they just have to stand up to Lesnar.
This appears to be WWE's way of just having someone stand next to Lesnar without the two of them actually doing anything, which is indicative of how many WrestleMania matches have been "built" over the years by having zero storyline and just announcing the match. But the mystery angle allows fans to speculate and be invested in not knowing what is going on, so while LA Knight has been rumored and reported to be Lesnar's opponent, there remains a chance this ends up being someone like Gunther, Oba Femi, or anyone else.
