It definitely looks like WWE plans to give Buddy Murphy a decent main roster push, as the former Cruiserweight Champion pinned Daniel Bryan clean last night on SmackDown LIVE.
Bryan and Rowan maintain that Murphy lied about the latter's involvement in the Roman Reigns attacks, and Daniel had some choice words for his opponent before their match got underway. This fired the Aussie Superstar up, and after a decent back-and-forth encounter, he took advantage of a miscommunication between his accusers to hit Murphy's Law for the 3-count victory.
WWE's "Best Kept Secret" paid the price, though, because Rowan ambushed him backstage after the match and delivered a Claw Slam onto a steel container.
Despite being introduced on SmackDown as a heel, the fans are now firmly behind the former 205 Live star, so don't be surprised if we see him teaming up with Reigns to take on Rowan and Bryan in a tag-match very soon.
