As seen at WWE SummerSlam this past Sunday night, Becky Lynch finally turned on her former best friend Charlotte Flair, to the delight and excitement of the Brooklyn crowd.
While the booking has teased for weeks at the possibility of Lynch turning heel, many fans were truly upset that the “Lass Kicker” didn’t walk away with the Smackdown Women’s title at Summerslam.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray addressed the Becky Lynch heel turn on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM 93 Fight Nation, and below is what Ray had to say on Lynch’s turn:
“What I saw [at SummerSlam], was I saw Becky acting like Stone Cold Steve Austin, and getting the crowd reaction like a Daniel Bryan. And if that continues, wow, this “heel turn”, is not going to go the way they want it to. Because the more Becky does these things, the more the people are going to love her. I don’t think Becky can do any wrong right now. Like, let’s say the powers that be are like ‘holy crap, we didn’t expect that to happen. We thought everybody was gonna boo tonight.’ What are they gonna have her do [on Smackdown]? Are they gonna have her come out and crap all over the audience?”
