Bully Ray's Plan To Get Heat On Becky Lynch At EVOLUTION Would Probably Work, But Will Never Happen
It's clear that WWE has been trying to come up with a way to get fans behind Charlotte Flair, but so far any attempts to get heat on her Evolution opponent has been unsuccessful. Now, Bully Ray has weighed in.
At Evolution on Sunday, SmackDown LIVE Women's Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title against Charlotte Flair in a last woman standing match, and WWE is - or should be, at least - preparing for the crowd to be solidly behind the champ.
Despite Lynch playing the heel, it's proven very difficult to get heat on her as the WWE Universe has embraced The Irish Lass Kicker while turning on Flair. So, can anything be done during this match to switch things up?
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray outlined what he would do in this situation on Busted Open Radio, and while he acknowledges that it would never happen in today's PG climate, it does sound like something that would finally get Becky booed.
“I know what I will do for the finish of their match at Evolution, like if I was booking their match. They’re having a Last Woman Standing match, correct? Remember last week when we talking about how we would possibly get heat on Becky Lynch? …What if at Evolution, at the Last Woman Standing Match, something really really bad would happen to Charlotte at the end. Let’s just say, and I know this is not going to happen, let’s just say Charlotte was busted open and was in a really bad predicament. And [Ric] Flair came out because he was really concerned about his daughter.
He didn’t put his hands on her, he wouldn’t try to help her up. He didn’t get involved in any way, shape, or form. But as he would get closer to his daughter, What if Becky Lynch takes a chair and stands over Ric Flair, threatening to cave his head in unless Charlotte stayed down for the ten-count. How would you feel about that?”
Well, how would you feel about that? We reckon it would almost certainly work, but then again, Edge is one of the most popular Superstars in WWE history and the fans didn't mind when Becky made fun of the neck injury that forced him into retirement!
