Cain Velasquez has signed a multi-year deal with WWE and, last Friday, we learned that he will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel.

As a result, he's obviously retired from UFC and Velasquez has now issued a statement via his Twitter account in which he comments on that and thanks the WWE Universe for welcoming him to the company. How he'll fare in that match may decide whether fans get behind him or not.

Over the weekend, it was revealed that he also fielded offers from All Elite Wrestling but WWE offered Velasquez substantially more and that company didn't even bother making a counteroffer because it was a number they simply couldn't match.
