Carmella And Nia Jax Both Managed To Retain Their Respective Women's Championships At BACKLASH

Former Women's Champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss both went into Backlash hoping to regain their respective SmackDown Live and RAW titles but things didn't end particulalry well for either of them.

Nia Jax and Carmella's title reigns have only just begun so it makes sense that neither of them was dethroned at last night's Backlash PPV. Despite Alexa Bliss' best efforts, Jax managed to catch her during an attempted Twisted Bliss and countered that into a Samoan Drop for the win. Bizarrely, Jax was booed after the match for cutting an anti-bullying promo (her babyface run isn't taking off).

Carmella retaining her SmackDown Live Women's Championship was a little less
clear cut because she won with a roll up after kicking Charlotte Flair in the knee after a moonsault ended with her landing on her feet. However, as you can see in the video below, Flair gave her opponent props after the bout for managing to defeat her and it now appears like this rivalry could be at an end.

What did you think of these championship matches at Backlash? Were you disappointed that the titles didn't change hands? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
