Carmella Cashed In Her MITB Briefcase To Become Women's Champion On SMACKDOWN...With A Surprise Assist

We've been hearing about the Iconic Duo - Peyton Royce and Billie Kay - being called up from NXT for quite some time now but it finally happened on last night's episode of SmackDown Live. As Charlotte hit the ring, they made their arrival and proceeded to tear into the Women's Champion before beating her down and leaving the door wide open for Carmella to cash-in her Money in the Bank briefcase.

Carmella finally did so and successfully won the title in a major shakeup for SmackDown Live which definitely comes as a surprise just a couple of days after Charlotte ended Asuka's undefeated streak.

With a Superstar Shakeup taking place next week, it will be interesting seeing how this plot thread is picked up on and whether Charlotte could make the leap to RAW to take aim at Nia Jax instead. Either way, this was a great surprise and one which felt fitting for the SmackDown after WrestleMania
