Over the past few weeks, SmackDown has aired vignettes teasing the arrival of a "new" female Superstar to the blue brand. Fans had pretty much sussed that it was Carmella after the first video, but we finally got official confirmation during last night's episode.

It looks like the one-time "Princess of Staten Island" has returned to her heel roots, as she told the fans that she's done being a dancing goof (a reference to her highly entertaining run with R-Truth) in an attempt to win them over, and was now "untouchable."

WWE has tried to make this sexy influencer-type character work several times in the past (Eva Marie, Emmalina, Lana), and this appears to be the latest attempt to get it over. Carmella is highly talented and adept at getting heat at this stage, though, so if anyone can pull this off, she can.

No timeframe for "The Untouchable Carmella's" SmackDown debut, but now that the cat is out of the bag, we may see her as soon as next Friday.
