Cathy Kelley recently caught up with Maria Menounos and, as you might expect, the topic of her recent WWE depature came up. The popular host's final day with the company was at NXT TakeOver: Portland, and she made it clear that she left the company on good terms.
"I just knew that it was the right time and really feeling like I had planted a lot of seeds," she explained. "There’s so many things that I want to do in my life. With the WWE schedule, it’s so time-consuming because you are traveling so much."
"Being me, I wanted to do everything so I wanted to work as much as possible which also meant being away from Los Angeles, which I just moved to," Kelly continued. "That wouldn’t have allowed me to continue to do the other things, or work on the other things that I wanted to do."
Ultimately, it sounds like the schedule was just too much for her, especially as it didn't give her time to work on non-WWE projects. "I hadn’t taken a proper day or weekend off or show off since I had been there. If I did it was to work on another project. That gets really hard."
