Chad Gable has punched his ticket to the final of this year's King of the Ring tournament after defeating Shane McMahon on SmackDown LIVE.
McMahon announced that he'd be replacing the injured Elias, and attempted to ensure victory by promising to drop Kevin Owens' $100 grand fine if he "did his job" as special referee in the match. A
fter Gable scored a quick win with his rolling German Suplex, Shane made the match 2-out-of-3 falls. KO actually attempted to fix the match in Shane's favor several times, but Gable managed to kick out from the fast count, and was ultimately able to force his opponent to tap-out with an Ankle Lock submission.
After the match, McMahon attacked Owens from behind before firing him on the spot.
We're not sure how the Shane/KO stuff is going to play out, but Gable will now face Baron Corbin in the final of the King of the Ring next Monday on Raw.
