Charlotte Flair Became Women's Champion At SUMMERSLAM But There Was An Unexpected Twist

Carmella's SmackDown Women's Championship reign came to a swift end last night when the returning Charlotte Flair hit the Natural Selection on Becky Lynch for the 1-2-3. However, she basically stole the victory because Carmella was moments away from tapping out to the Irish Lass Kicker's patented arm breaker. However, what came next was even more surprising and pretty damn unexpected.

As Lynch and Flair embraced, the former slapped her friend to the ground and proceeded to deliver a vicious beatdown, throwing her into the steel steps, the barricades, and across the announce table.

Does this signal a long overdue heel turn for Lynch? It's hard to say, especially as the fans in Brooklyn were fully behind her and ended up chanting "You Deserve It" to the downed Charlotte. For now, we'll have to wait and see what happens on SmackDown Live this Tuesday but it's pretty clear that Lynch's quest to gain the title is far from over and she'll have to go through Flair to get her hands on it!
