Tiffany Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Nia Jax to become WWE Women's Champion last month and was forced to put the title on the line against the irresistible force during last night's SmackDown.
As the match continued, Stratton received what was clearly a babyface reaction from the crowd and managed to turn the tide against Jax.
However, just as she was about to hit the World's Prettiest Moonsault, Candice LeRae interfered and a beatdown commenced. WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus was at ringside and decided to intervene, lending the champion a helping hand before being taken out by Jax.
As Jax and LeRae took their leave, Charlotte Flair made her way out to the ring and confirmed that she's chosen Stratton as her WrestleMania opponent. So, The Queen vs. Tiffy Time at the Showcase of the Immortals!
In a backstage segment, Stratus approached Stratton and suggested they team up at Elimination Chamber to battle Jax and LeRae in a tag team match. Tiffy accepted and, if you need any further proof that she's a babyface now, this segment very much sealed the deal.
Hopefully, WWE will do the right thing at WrestleMania by having Stratton overcome Flair, though it's hard to say. It feels like the right time for a passing of the torch, though.
