Charlotte Flair & Drew McIntyre Winning The ROYAL RUMBLE Matches May Have Been A Last Minute Decision

Last night, Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair won their respective Royal Rumble matches to punch their tickets to WrestleMania, but it sounds like WWE brass originally had two other Superstars in mind.

Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre won their respective Royal Rumble matches last night, but that decision may have been made at the last minute.

According to Dave Meltzer, Vince McMahon's original plan was for Shayna Baszler and Roman Reigns to win, but after the WrestleMania setup was looked at more closely, the decision was made for The Queen and The Scottish Psychopath to go over.

It's hard to know if this is accurate or not (Meltzer tends to be hit or miss these days), but it does make sense considering the fact that both Reigns and Baszler were the last Superstars eliminated. Apparently, The Big Dog and The Queen of Spades are still scheduled to have major programmes at 'Mania despite their Rumble losses.

McIntyre over Reigns was definitely the right decision, but if the fan reaction was any indication, Baszler would have been a more popular winner than Flair. What do you guys think?
