Chelsea Green is the first - and current - Women's United States Champion and has made no secret of her desire to step into the ring with WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella.
Bella has only made a handful of in-ring appearances since retiring from competing full-time in 2018 but was most recently showcased as the 30th entrant in last month's Women's Royal Rumble match.
Now, Green has once again shared her hope to face Nikki and suggested they could go one-on-one in a Hair vs. Hair match at this April's WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
"The outcome is obviously gonna be I win and continue to be the greatest-ever, longest-reigning Women’s United States Champion. But I think, I’ve put a lot of thought into this in the past couple of weeks. We’re on the road to WrestleMania this month. I’m thinking my ideal match would be myself versus Nikki Bella in a Hair versus Hair match."
"That part is crazy. That part is a dream. The Hair versus Hair match, that one’s a dream. But me versus Nikki Bella, I love Nikki, I grew up watching Nikki. She came back at the Royal Rumble. I think this could be the perfect time for her to really sink her teeth into a feud and have a singles match."
Bella has confirmed WWE has plans for her and, during a recent interview, revealed that she and ex-fiance John Cena crossed paths backstage at the Royal Rumble.
Since they called it quits, Cena married Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020 and Bella tied the knot with Artem Chigvintsev in 2022 before divorcing him in 2024. While it sounds like a slightly awkward reunion, there don't appear to be any hard feelings.
"It was very quick. I was in a circle talking to people. He came to [shake] everyone’s hand. He shook my hand. But the thing was, when he walked away, all the girls were like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I’m like, ‘Shh, shh, He’s married, be respectful.’ And that was it. That was nice, and it was great because breaking the ice and you know, we just both happened to be back at the same time. It’s a good feeling."
Will Green and Bella ever get their match? That remains to be seen, but it would be a fun bout for both women. As of now, with WrestleMania fast approaching, it doesn't appear as if WWE has a match in mind for the Hall of Famer on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
