Chris Jericho has been wrestling for a long time but despite the fact he's been around since the days of WCW, he's having some of the best matches of his career right now for NJPW. During a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, Y2J shared his thoughts on what the true secret of success is in the world of wrestling and it may surprise you to learn that it's not always about the quality of the matches!
"I’ve wrestled a few times now," Jericho joked. "I’m gonna go on record here — uh-oh Jericho spews the truth — guess what guys? Great matches don’t matter — here’s the secret to wrestling — personalities and character. That’s all that matters." It seems like a pretty accurate assessment, especially when you look at Superstars like Elias, Curt Hawkins, and Carmella.
Y2J also revealed the advice he gave to Will Ospreay after his recent head injury. "I told him. People were predicting he’s gonna be the next Dynamite Kid. I called him on the phone and said, ‘dude you do not want to be the next Dynamite Kid. I want you to be around when you’re 47 just like me kicking ass. Stop doing stupid moves that don’t mean anything."
More good advice! What do you guys think of Jericho's remarks, though? As always, be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section below and be sure to stay tuned for further updates.
