A few weeks ago, Chris Jericho made an unexpected and unscheduled return to SmackDown Live which saw him battle AJ Styles and Kevin Owens in a Triple Threat Match with the United States Championship on the line. Y2J hasn't been seen on WWE programming since and the fan-favourite Superstar has now revealed why he made this one-off appearance.
During a chat with Tyler Breeze and Fandango on the latest edition of his podcast, Jericho revealed that he was in Richmond, Virginia to shoot a role in the next season of Southpaw Regional Wrestling. However, he got talked into doing a match and obviously ended up wrapping up his lengthy feud with Owens which has seen the two do battle since before WrestleMania.
It now remains to be seen when Jericho will make his actual WWE return and how long he'll stick around for when he does. His last run was pretty incredible and he's admitted that it was one of his favourites too. Chances are we won't see him back on a weekly basis until next year but with Fozzy and other outside interests taking up his time, it could be longer than that!
