Randy Orton kicked off Raw by cutting a promo on the man he defeated in the "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" at Backlash, and it wasn't long before he was interrupted by The Rated-R Superstar's friend and former tag-team partner, Christian.
Captain Charisma began to come to Edge's defense but Orton had other ideas, claiming that his old rival was really on Raw because he wanted "one more match." The Viper acknowledged that Christian has not been medically cleared, challenging him to an unsanctioned bout.
Throughout the show, Christian spoke with likes of Ric Flair and The Big Show, ultimately deciding to go against The Nature Boy's advice by accepting the challenge. Big mistake.
Before the bout could get underway, Flair made his way to the ring in an attempt to talk Christian out of it one more time, before living up to his moniker of the Dirtiest Player in the Game by hitting him with a low blow and allowing The Viper to deliver a brutal Punt Kick. As medical staff arrived to see to Christian, Orton told him it was his fault for getting involved in the first place.
This was great stuff, but with Edge on the shelf for at least another few months, we're not sure where it's going. Surely Randy has now established himself as the top heel in the company (again), so will he wind up challenging for the WWE Championship?
