CM Punk Is Reportedly In Talks For An In-Ring Return, With AEW The Most Likely Destination

Are we finally going to see former WWE Champion CM Punk make his long-awaited return to the ring? Rumors have been swirling for a while, but we may now have confirmation! Find out what we know here...

This wouldn't be the first time we've heard this, but it is the first time a reputable source has reported that CM Punk is in negotiations to return to the ring.

Fightful Select's (subscription required) sources have told them that Punk has been in talks to return to the world of pro-wrestling, and while they don't seem to know for certain who has shown interest, it's believed that AEW is the most likely destination.

Again, we've heard this before, but there does seem to be a bit more steam behind this report, and the story has been picked up by numerous outlets. Punk has taken to Twitter in the past to debunk previous rumors, and may well do the same for this if there's no truth behind it, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates.

If this is accurate, it'll be a long-time coming. Fans have been hoping to see Punk, real name Phil Brooks, back in the ring ever since he walked away from WWE over 6 years ago, but the "Best in the World" simply never seemed that interested in returning to that world.

We'll just have to see how this plays out, but be sure to tune in to AEW Dynamite later tonight - hey, you never know!
