Many fans and wrestlers took issue with Ronda Rousey's recent comments, but CM Punk believes she's doing a terrific job riling people up.
The former WWE Champion made a guest appearance on WWE Backstage last night, and when he was asked for his thoughts on what the Baddest Woman on the Planet had to say about "fake fighting" and "[frick]ing ungrateful fans," he inferred that the whole thing might be a work, and that Rousey has "them all wrapped around her little finger.”
“She’s doing her job. Listen, I love this. This is pure chaos and I don’t see this ending well whether it’s real or scripted, but it’s gonna be fun to watch. It’s fantastic watching everyone bite on it. It’s fantastic watching everyone get butt-hurt about it. You know, people say Ronda’s soft because she got knocked out twice. They say she’s not a real fighter, but then they say she’s not a real wrestler, but the whole time they don’t realize that she’s got them all right here — they’re all wrapped around her little finger.”
“I know she’s saying some touchy things. I know some people are gonna get mad. Some people are gonna get offended, but that’s when wrestling for me is the best. When you blur the lines. When you go, ‘These two really don’t like each other she just punched her in the face for real.'”
This past Monday on Raw, Rousey's name was mentioned during an interview segment with Shayna Baszler, whuch definitely suggests that WWE is, at the very least, planning to capitalize on the recent controversy.
