Following his WWE release, CM Punk appeared on Colt Cabana's podcast and claimed that WWE doctor Chris Amann neglected some serious health problems he was going through at the time. It didn't take long for the physician to hit back and he's now suing both them in a lawsuit many believe is being funded by WWE in order to teach Punk a lesson for what he's said about the company.
Regardless, after originally setting a trial date for May 21st, things kick off in Chicago today and the case is assigned to Judge Maras in Court Room 2006. As a result, expect some news later today.
Punk is currently scheduled to fight Mike Jackson at the upcoming UFC 225 pay-per-view event on June 9th. That's his second professional fight and he's hopefully being paid well for it because Amann is seeking $1 million in compensatory damages and an undetermined amount of punitive damages for the comments.
