While WWE still plans to have Cody Rhodes battle Brock Lesnar in a rubber match following their previous encounters at Backlash and Night of Champions, it won't take place at Money in the Bank.
According to the increasingly reliable insider account @BoozerRasslin, the current plan within the company is for the American Nightmare to battle Dominik Mysterio at the PLE in London, England. However, there are two different ways it appears the bout could end up going.
One would be for a singles match with the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and the other is a tag team bout.
With Damian Priest likely set to compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match, the latter could see Rhodes team up with former enemy and current World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to battle Mysterio and Finn Balor.
Alternatively, it would be a mixed tag team match with Mysterio and Rhea Ripley facing Rhodes and an unknown partner. Of course, the most likely possibility in that scenario would be Brandi Rhodes!
Many UK fans will be disappointed that Lesnar isn't making the trip to London, but it was to be expected. He hasn't wrestled in the country for several years and seemingly only agrees to travel to Saudi Arabia because it involves getting a massive payday!
Rhodes outwitted the former WWE Champion with a cunning pin at Backlash, but an understandably unhappy Beast broke the babyface's arm a few weeks later on RAW.
Even so, they still faced off again at Night of Champions, with Rhodes ultimately losing only after passing out while trapped in the Kimura armbar. According to the latest rumours, WWE is considering a Bullrope match for SummerSlam and we are expecting a stipulation which hasn't been used for a number of years.
