Cody Rhodes Says He "Wouldn't Be Surprised" If CM Punk Ended Up Returning To WWE

Are we just being trolled at this point? After CM Punk essentially wrote All Elite Wrestling as being unprofessional, Cody Rhodes has now taken to social media to claim that he believes Punk is WWE bound!

Earlier this week, CM Punk talked about his interactions with All Elite Wrestling and expressed his frustrations with their constant mentions of him, the fact they basically offered him a job by text (which isn't good business in his opinion), and his apparent lack of interest in joining the promotion.

Now, Cody Rhodes has taken to social media to seemingly try and clear things up and says that he believes Punk may have been misquoted because they did actually meet in person. Once.

Bizarrely, he also added that he thinks Punk could return to WWE but that must have been a joke because there's no way that's ever going to happen...right? Honestly, it's hard to escape the feeling that we're being played here and, at this point, it wouldn't be that shocking if Punk were to make an appearance at All Out in Chicago next month.

We'll be sure to keep you guys updated but let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section.
