During last night's episode of RAW, Cody Rhodes made his way out to the ring to address the fallout from last week's WrestleMania Kickoff. After thanking fans for their passion, the American Nightmare stopped himself from getting emotional because he didn't want to be dubbed a "crybaby."
After showing a clip of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson calling out the "Cody Crybabies" on The Pat McAfee Show, Rhodes talked about being a fan of the Brahma Bull and acknowledged that slap before vowing to hit Johnson right back.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was next to hit the ring, prompting Rhodes to thank him for coming to his aid at the Kickoff. Admitting that he's disappointed Rhodes didn't pick him to face at WrestleMania, Rollins also said he understands why it had to be Roman Reigns.
Rollins would add that both he and the fans want to see Cody finish his story and reiterated the stakes of what another loss would mean for WWE and the WWE Championship.
Rollins went on to deliver a fiery, phenomenal promo talking about the impact of The Bloodline and The Rock on the company and pledged to help Rhodes battle them both in the weeks and months ahead (lending some weight to that talk of a tag team match also taking place at the Show of Shows).
Rhodes is currently on a collision course with Reigns at WrestleMania and Rollins' challenger is expected to be decided at Elimination Chamber.
Right now, it seems the play for the Showcase of the Immortals is for Rhodes, Rollins, and Reigns to work both nights; a tag team match on one evening and their respective title matches on the other. When it comes to The Rock, we only expect him to take part in the former. We'll see what happens.
