CONFIRMED: Paul Heyman Will Induct Bill Goldberg Into The WWE HALL OF FAME Class Of 2018
Confirming a recent rumor, WWE has officially announced that none other than Paul Heyman will induct Bill Goldberg into the Hall of Fame next month during WrestleMania week. More details after the jump...
The 2018 Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled to take place a couple of nights before WrestleMania, and the individual that's now been confirmed to be inducting Goldberg is sure to leave a lot of people confused.
Last month, a rumor did the rounds that Paul Heyman would have the honor of inducting the WCW legend into the HOF, and WWE has now made it official.
Heyman had a bird’s eye view of the type of carnage Goldberg could create inside the ring when he returned in 2016 to challenge Lesnar to a Mega Match at Survivor Series in Toronto. He was stunned when Goldberg bulldozed through The Beast in under two minutes to win his first match in 12 years. Heyman also witnessed the demolition derby for the Universal Championship between Goldberg and his client on The Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 33 last year.
Though Goldberg was not victorious on that night, he certainly made a major impression on Lesnar and his advocate. Heyman is never one to pull any punches or mince words. What will he have to say when he presents Goldberg to the WWE Universe to receive sports-entertainment’s highest honor? Find out during the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, streaming live on WWE Network Friday, April 6, at 8 ET/5 PT!
Heyman is one of the best orators in the business, but he and Goldberg haven't really had any significant dealings with each other over the course of their careers. Of course, there's always a chance that they became close during the feud with Brock Lesnar, but The Beast's advocate still seems like an odd choice.
What do you guys think? Do you see the sense in this, or would you rather see someone else induct Goldberg? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
