Late last week, a report did the rounds that Renee Young was set to part ways with WWE, and that was confirmed at SummerSlam last night, with Charly Caruso saying goodbye to her pre-show cohost live on air.

Young broke onto the scene as a backstage interviewer, before transitioning into a full-time announcer for Monday Night Raw. She admits to never being fully comfortable in that role, however, and soon went on to host the now cancelled WWE Backstage with Booker T and CM Punk. Over the years, she became one of the most popular personalities in the company, so her departure is sure to be felt within the WWE Universe.

Young, real name Renee Paquette, followed up this announcement with a social media statement, explaining why she's decided to leave WWE.

There's inevitable speculation that Renee will now join her husband Jon Moxley in AEW, but they already have more announcers and interviewers than they know what to do with, so we don't see that happening anytime soon.

Whatever Renee ends up doing, we wish her all the best.
