It's official: Rey Mysterio will make his long-awaited return to The WWE for next week's 1000th episode of SmackDown LIVE.

Fans have been wondering if and when The Master of the 619 would be back ever since he entered the last Royal Rumble, and while a recent rumor did point to him being a part of the blue brand's historic show, it's nice to have confirmation.

The former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion is credited with rejuvenating SmackDown back in the day and making it must-see TV along with the likes of John Cena, Edge and the late Eddie Guerrero, so it only makes sense that he'd make his comeback on that show.

SmackDown LIVE 1000 airs on Oct. 16 live on USA Network at 8/7 C.
