Tonight's episode of WWE NXT ended not just with Bianca Belair and Naomi retaining the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship over The Meta Girls (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson), but with a mysterious SMPTE color bars screen.
The final 10 seconds showed the traditional color bars (often used to signify the end of a broadcast or some technical difficulties) with text that read "WWE TRANSMISSION" that would then be backspaced and replaced with "VENGEANCE DAY"
What this means, other than that this is clearly a tease for something happening at Vengeance Day, remains unknown. In all likelihood, this will be either the return or debut of a WWE Superstar. Allow yourselves to speculate in the comments below on whether this is about Jordynne Grace, Aleister Black, or any number of people!
In the meantime, before Vengeance Day, we do have next week's episode of NXT, set to go down in the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on February 4, 2025.
There will be a tag team match with Oba Femi and Trick Williams teaming up against A-Town Down Under, as a result of the Grayson Waller Effect segment from tonight. In that segment, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller berated Oba Femi, saying they don't consider him to have the potential to be a main event star on the main roster. Williams came out after Femi challenged either of them to a match at Vengeance Day, trying to put in a bid for himself to get the title shot instead, only to end up getting into a fight with Theory and Waller before being powerbombed by Femi.
Following Fallon Henley retaining her NXT Women's North American Championship over Shotzi, it was announced that Henley will defend her title against Stephanie Vaquer at Vengeance Day. Following that announcement, Fatal Influence was complaining about it backstage, and after Jacy Jayne interrupted Henley to say she hasn't forgotten about Vaquer attacking her when she was in a makeup chair a few weeks ago, Henley volunteered Jayne to face Vaquer next week. The tension between Jayne and Henley continues to brew.
Following the announcement that Giulia will face both Bayley and Roxanne Perez in a Triple Threat match for the NXT Women's Championship at Vengeance Day, those three will be in a "summit" segment next week. Cora Jade is upset at Ava (as well as possibly Roxanne Perez, who blamed her for losing their tag team match against Bayley and Giulia) and it's likely Jade will pop up in this segment as well.
After Izzi Dame was explaining why she helped out Tony D'Angelo last week, Ridge Holland interrupted her interview, angry at her interference that cost him the title. Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo came to the rescue, and he will now face Holland next week.
Finally, Karmen Petrovic and Kelani Jordan will have a singles bout of their own, following a backstage segment wherein Jordan told Petrovic that she didn't help her out with Jaida Parker to help her, but to just get back at Parker, and that eventually, in a matter of time, Ashante "Thee" Adonis will leave Petrovic.
As of this publication, that brings the lineup for next week's NXT to the following card:
- Tag Team Match: Oba Femi & Trick Williams vs. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)
- Jacy Jayne vs Stephanie Vaquer
- Vengeance Day Summit with Giulia, Bayley and Roxanne Perez
- Karmen Petrovic vs Kelani Jordan
- Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo vs Ridge Holland
