Damian Priest Reveals Surprising Reason He Can't Currently Cash In Money In The Bank Briefcase On Seth Rollins

Damian Priest has now held the Money in the Bank briefcase since last July and, during that time, we've seen a lot of cash in attempts.

Fans are even starting to poke fun at The Judgement Day's member's apparent inability to make good use of his guaranteed title shot and it's clear that, while WWE has big plans for Priest, the company isn't quite ready to put either the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship around his waist.

That must be coming given that he has "top guy" potential, and with Seth Rollins currently injured, we know many of you have questioned why Priest hasn't decided to target his fellow RAW Superstar. Well, it turns out that, in storyline, he can't!

"I’m based on RAW and Seth Rollins is the champion. Unfortunately, he’s not medically cleared, so I can’t cash in right now because, officially, he can’t be in a match," Priest explains in the video below. "So I kinda have to just wait until he’s cleared, or if I find myself on the other show, it’d be different, but that champion isn’t around all the time either."

"It’s one of those things about me biding my time. I still have until July 1st, And I have plenty of time. I don’t want to risk doing something I shouldn’t. This isn’t going to be a waste. In my head, I have to become World Champion, whether it’s on RAW or SmackDown," he continued. "Either way, I have to become a major titleholder, and I have to be extra careful about it. So I still have time and obviously, we got WrestleMania coming up."

If WWE wants to get major heat on Priest and establish him as a top heel, then he'll cash in on Cody Rhodes right after he wins the WWE Championship. After all, that would be quite the bump in the road when it comes to the American Nightmare finishing his story on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

The former United States Champion also addressed R-Truth's surprise role in The Judgement Day in recent weeks.

"It's another one of those crazy things that, by accident, we just have a dynamic that people have been going crazy about," he says. "And who would have thought Truth with Judgment Day? It makes no sense whatsoever. I don't know, on paper, you would just cringe because it just doesn't make sense."
