Daniel Bryan Believes It's Unlikely He'll Get The Chance To Step Back In The Ring Against The Miz

For months now, WWE has been teasing a rivalry between SmackDown Live GM Daniel Bryan and former Intercontinental Champion The Miz. However, Bryan doesn't believe the payoff will come inside the ring!

During an episode of Talking Smack last year, The Miz dropped one of the best promos of his career on Daniel Bryan, and since then, the feud between the retired wrestler and active WWE Superstar has continued to escalate. Many fans hope and believe that the payoff could come in the form of a match between the two despite the fact that Bryan is no longer cleared for in-ring competition, but it doesn't appear as if any significant payoff is in the works.

During a recent chat with The Gorilla Position podcast, Bryan was asked point-blank whether or not there are plans for him and The Miz to settle their differences in the squared circle, and his answer was sadly the one we probably all expected to hear from the leader of the Yes Movement.

"As far as I know, no. The one thing about [WWE] and any form of entertainment or fighting or sport is ‘never say never’. I keep working on the doctor stand point of it, I was like ok, ‘is there anything more I can do to get cleared?’ And right now I’ve done everything I can possibly do. It’s an unfortunate scenario to me, but at the same time I’m very grateful for the amount of time I’ve had being able to do this. WWE gave me this amazing platform. I wrestled in front of 30,000 people for New Japan, but I was on the undercard. [WWE] was an opportunity to wrestle front of thousands of people."

While The Miz stealing Bryan's moves and insulting his inability to compete has generated a significant amount of heat for the former Intercontinental Champion (helping him to become of SmackDown Live's top competitors after years of being trapped in the midcard), the fact that this storyline doesn't appear to be going anywhere is definitely a disappointment.

Still, it sounds like Bryan is still doing all he can to get cleared and stranger things have happened in the WWE. Just look at how the retired Shawn Michaels came back in 2002 for a match with Triple H which would turn into another lengthy run! For now, though, we may have to just accept the fact that the SmackDown Live GM won't be getting his revenge on The Miz physically, especially as rumours point to the self-proclaimed A-Lister taking on John Cena at this year's WrestleMania
