Daniel Bryan Defeats AJ Syles To Become The New WWE Champion On SMACKDOWN LIVE!

Yes, you read that right! Tonight on SmackDown, Daniel Bryan was given an impromptu title opportunity against AJ Styles and pinned The Phenomenal One to become the new champ - but only after turning heel!

Daniel Bryan is your new WWE Champion... and a heel!

Bryan and AJ Styles mixing it up at the start of the show led to an impromptu title match in the main event, and after a solid back-and-forth bout, The Leader of The YES! Movement hit The Champion with a low blow behind the referee's back before landing his signature running knee for the 3-count.

After the match, a crazed-looking DB continued his beat-down of AJ, which included some vicious stomps to the face.

So, a pretty big surprise - though WWE did telegraph it slightly by removing Bryan from the SmackDown Survivor Series team - and it'll now be Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar (yay) at the PPV this Sunday.

What do you guys make of this shocking development? Sound off down below.
