Daniel Bryan Outlines His WWE Goals; Says He Still Finds Himself “Going Up Against The Creative Machine”
Since he came out of retirement, Daniel Bryan hasn't really been involved in any main-event feuds or angles, and during a new interview The Leader of The YES! Movement suggests that simply doesn't bother him.
Though Daniel Bryan fans would love nothing more than to see the SmackDown LIVE Superstar challenging for the WWE Championship or main eventing WrestleMania, it doesn't sound like such lofty goals are currently being considered.
During an interview with IGN, Bryan admitted that, for the time being, he is mainly focused on giving the best in-ring performance he possibly can - but says even that can sometimes lead to him butting heads with creative.
“Creating goals like that are very difficult in WWE and can often leave you disappointed because you don’t have control over a lot of things. The one thing I do have control over is my performance. And so I have artistic goals I’m trying to reach and places I’d like to go with my wrestling and my character. And even that sometimes is going up against the creative machine and what they want for you vs. what you want for yourself.
That’s a constant whirlwind and back-and-forth trade off and whatnot. So I do have those types of goals but they’re not main eventing WrestleMania or winning the Rumble or things you don’t have any say in.”
Chances are Daniel will find himself at the top of the ladder again at some point (he's still the company's most popular Superstar, after all) but for now let's just hope he keeps being involved in interesting feuds that lead to awesome matches.
