Daniel Bryan Reportedly Won't Be Cleared In Time For The ROYAL RUMBLE This Sunday

SmackDown Live General Manager and former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan may be one of the favourites to win this year's Royal Rumble match but a new report claims that WWE still hasn't cleared him to compete.

Daniel Bryan's WWE contract ends in September and he's made it clear that he'll be stepping down as SmackDown Live's General Manager to go and wrestle elsewhere if the company doesn't give him the green light. However, recent reports have pointed to the leader of the Yes Movement entering and winning the Royal Rumble (possibly without taking any bumps in the process).

However, Dave Meltzer has now revealed that Bryan has not been cleared to wrestle as of earlier this week and that his status is not expected to change as we get closer to Sunday.

It is, of course, possible that WWE is keeping his status under wraps but it seems we're going to have to wait and see for now. Bear in mind that WWE spent months teasing a match between Bryan and The Miz and that never ended up amounting to anything so we could end up being disappointed...
