The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view got underway with Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak, and, as expected, they put on a superb technical display.
The former Cruiserweight Champion started off strong, surprising Bryan with his grappling and striking prowess. Daniel soon hit his stride, however, and we were treated to a very impressive back-and-forth wrestling match. At one point, Gulak hit a release German Suplex which resulted in a scary landing for Daniel (any and all neck/head bumps make us squirm), but thankfully he was fine and beat the ref's 10 count.
In the end, Bryan was able to reverse The Philadelphia Stretcher's Dragon Sleep and apply the YES! Lock, which resulted in his opponent losing consciousness.
With any luck, this will give Drew a well-deserved push, because he has the potential to be the next Daniel Bryan. He is currently signed to the SmackDown brand, though, so he'll probably just go back to presenting slideshows and jobbing to Braun Strowman.
