During Friday night's episode of SmackDown, AJ Styles moved forward in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament when Elias was unable to compete, and Daniel Bryan defeated Sheamus after Jeff Hardy was arrested. The Celtic Warrior won a Battle Royal to earn that spot, but the leader of the Yes Movement ultimately prevailed.
Now, it's been confirmed that the finals - Bryan vs. Styles - will take place on the June 12th edition of SmackDown.
Styles and Bryan will compete for the title which was vacated by Sami Zayn (for reasons which still aren't entirely clear), but the match has already been taped, and it sounds like we're in for a treat. According to Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp, the bout was taped on May 26th, and he notes that, "We’re told that the match was 'unbelievable' and legitimately pumped up a very tired NXT PC crowd that was there to cheer."
This won't be the first time Bryan and Styles have battled it out in the squared circle, of course, but it sounds like it might just be their best match to date. SmackDown has been lacking in recent weeks, but Styles move to the blue brand might have been just what the show needed...
