Despite Being Cleared Of All Charges, Rich Swann Has Been Released By WWE

Former Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann was recently suspended by WWE after being arrested for battery and false imprisonment but despite the fact all charges were dropped, he's now been released.

The 205 Live roster has been expanding in a big way recently but don't expect Rich Swann to be part of the revamped Cruiserweight division. WWE has announced today that they've mutually parted ways with the former champion, news which probably shouldn't come as a surprise all things considered.

"Rich Swann and WWE have mutually agreed to part ways as of today, February 15, 2018," reads the statement. "WWE wishes Swann the best in all of his future
endeavors."

Swann was arrested on battery and false imprisonment charges in December for an incident involving his wife. He was then quickly suspended by the company and while he was cleared of those charges last month, that doesn't mean he's innocent and several eyewitnesses saw him commit the crime.

What comes next for him remains to be seen but he'll no doubt return to the independent scene in the near future. Are you upset to see him release by WWE? Let us know your thoughts below.
