There was only one Extreme Rules Match on the Extreme Rules card (makes sense, right?) and that was Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax. Unfortunately, that stipulation didn't really help the bout because it was a pretty underwhelming affair made worse by constant interference from both Mickie James and Natalya. However, things took a turn for the better when Ronda Rousey decided to get involved.
Jumping over the barrier (where she was sat at ringside for the show), Rousey took out James but after taking a beating from a kendo stick, she was left prone at ringside. That allowed James to interfere again, hitting Jax with a steel chair and allowing Bliss to take out her opponent with a DDT on said chair.
Now, it appears as if the stage is being set for Rousey to do battle with Bliss at SummerSlam next month where we'll hopefully see the former UFC star crowned the new RAW Women's Champion. Don't expect to see her on RAW tonight, though, because Michael Cole pointed out during Extreme Rules that her 30-day suspension doesn't actually come to an end until Wednesday! Typical, right?
